For long time the only way to play MOD and IT mussic in flash was Andre Michelle’s 8bitboy player

http://8bitboy.popforge.de/
But today I’ve opened new player written on HaXe language, that can be more useful for flash games : flashmodplayer (100K without preloader).
Both players have advantages and, well, some disadvantages
. 8bitboy has better sound render quality but is very sensitive to CPU load so in fact, useless for game developing. FlashModPlayer has mono sound with lower quality, but it renders whole composition in second and don’t uses much CPU while playing. Unfortunately it dont have any UI controls excepting Stop and Play ability. And dont plays IT format.
Now, imagine you can put 10Kb player and few Kb music in game or wherever you want and have 2-3 minutes music loop.
The format was designed to be directly playable on the Amiga without additional processing: for example, samples are stored in 8-bit PCM format ready to be played on the Amiga DAC, and pattern data is not packed. Playback required very little CPU time on an Amiga, and many games used MOD files for their background music.

I’ve tested PixelBlender shaders few days ago, this new feature looks pretty nice!)
More effects - more fun
Only three days left until 25lines competition starts, and I’ll try to participate in it! The sence of the competition - to write a 25 lines code that can show some visual effects. The main prize - license of Adobe CS4, so hurry! Challenge ends in one month.
